What Altarboy is about
Theo is eighteen when his family throws him out for being gay and leaves him at a Catholic church, expecting the clergy there to fix him. He arrives braced for sermons. What he gets is Alexander, a young priest who is strikingly good-looking and openly rude, and who decides the new arrival will serve as his personal altar boy.
The assignment turns into a contest of nerves. Each of them tests the other, pushing to see who flinches first, and the teasing starts to carry real weight. As the attraction deepens into something neither man can confess away, both of them stand to lose everything they have over a desire the church forbids outright.
